Things To Do
The Lakeview Motel is centrally located to a number of popular attractions in the Kern River Valley area. Were only 5 minutes from California Audubons Kern River Preserve, one of the last stands of riparian forest in California, and home to many rare bird species. Were only 10 minutes from rafting the Wild and Scenic Kern River, immortalized in song by country singer Merle Haggard. Hiking 4,980-ft Cook Peak is just behind the motel. Fishing, Wind Sailing, and Boating are just across the street in Isabella Lake, with its 38 miles of pristine shoreline, and home of Southern Californias largest trout fishing derby. If thats not enough to peak your interest, we are also located in one, of only two areas in the United States, where five climate zones come together. This means within a few minutes drive from your room, you can go Snow Skiing, walk in the Desert, climb in the Mountains, explore the River, fish in the Lake,
and then just for fun, since the Lakeview Motel is also located at the southern entrance to Giant Sequoia National Monument, admire the majesty of the largest living trees on earth.
