When Reba McEntire started out, she was just an unknown barrel racer from southeastern Oklahoma with huge talent. She signed her record deal with Mercury Records in the late 1970s. Although Reba has had her share of hits, she didn't come out of the gate collecting them. It took her until 1980 to score her very first Top 10 hit with "You Lift Me Up (To Heaven)" from her third album Feel the Fire.
