1960 - Frank Sinatra made the first recording on his very own record company, Reprise Records. Ol' Blue Eyes crooned out "Ring-A-Ding-Ding" and "Let’s Fall in Love."
1974 - Ronnie Wood joined up with The Rolling Stones.
1987 - Successful folk rocker Paul Simon joined the unsuccessful presidential candidate of the same name to host Saturday Night Live.
2001 - Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland pled guilty to a domestic battery after a domestic dispute with his wife at a Hard Rock Hotel a month earlier. The judge allowed a plea bargain dismissing the case provided that Weiland stay out of trouble for six months and attend 26 counseling sessions.
