1978 - Sid Vicious played a gig at Max's Kansas City, a New York City punk club.

1978 - Former Who drummer Keith Moon died in London at the age of 31. The drummer overdosed on Hemenephirin, which was prescribed to him to help with alcohol abuse. He was replaced in The Who by Faces drummer Kenney Jones.

1987 - Despite legal threats from former member Roger Waters, Pink Floyd began their "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" tour.
